Why Derek and Lindsay are Racing with Purpose:

A few months ago, we were approached to go with a team to Burundi, Africa on a mission trip. The trip is designed to establish relationships with women and children in a nation stricken with severe poverty. Although we are unable to go on the trip, we want to support the team members who are going. When we learned of “racing with purpose,” we knew this would provide an opportunity to help the women in Burundi. 
 


We started running together when we moved to Los Angeles in 2010. We have found it to be great exercise, as well as a way to release our everyday stress. This race will be our third half marathon to complete together and we are excited for the challenge. As we run this race, we will have a new purpose knowing that with each step we are not only reaching our personal goals, but aiding the women of Burundi to accomplish theirs.
 


Our goal is to raise $1,000 for the team going to Burundi. Any contribution will help make this possible.
